VALLE DE GUADALUPE

Valle de Guadalupe was originally populated by indigenous Yuman groups, especially the KUMIAI, who consider themselves binational and live in ranches or mountain ranges in both the state of Baja California, in northwest Mexico, and in southern California, USA. It is estimated that there are currently 200 families living on the Mexican side and that human activity there is 10,000 years old.

The winemaking history of Valle de Guadalupe began in the 19th century with the arrival of Spanish missions and Russian families. Because of its fertile soil, its streams, its pastures and its proximity to the sea, it has been appreciated since ancient times. In 1834, Dominican monks established the Mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe; although their intention was to evangelize, they began the cultivation of vines to produce wine and celebrate the liturgy.

The Wine Route emerged in Valle de Guadalupe. It is a wine-growing region located near the Pacific Ocean, in the municipality of Ensenada, Baja California, immersed in a Mediterranean climate with ideal characteristics such as wind and water for the cultivation of the best vines.

A couple million cases of wine are produced in Valle de Guadalupe, representing the 90 percent of wine production in Mexico.

JCVG ESTATE

The JCVG Estate is a quiet and serene refuge of vines and olive trees. It stands out for being a plantation located in the Ejido El Porvenir, on the slopes of the San Felipe Mountain range, caressed by an enviable sunset and a hypnotic and sedative Moon.

The JCVG Estate is a plantation where day, night, wind, breeze and water come together to provide its unique characteristics of geography, light and climate:

  • Geography: It is a rocky and mountainous area with an altitude of 312 meters above sea level.
  • Light: The magic and mystery of the sun and moon turn grapes and olives into jewels of nature.
  • Climate: The Santa Ana winds and the sea breeze sway in harmony, inducing an ideal climate for the development of the vine. Its climatic conditions are similar to those of Bordeaux, in southwest France.

The Finca JCVG team proudly grows a traditional vineyard and olive plantation every day, with respect for the environment and social responsibility, generating a source of sustainable employment.

Finca JCVG is a plantation whose native vegetation nourishes the soil. We provide time and quality in the sowing and raising of its vines and olive trees, the harvesting of its fruits, and the selection of its grapes and olives.

Finca JCVG adds to the passion, experience and oenological and viticultural quality of Valle de Guadalupe, a region where the best wines of the country are born.
